Luna’s POV Elina’s apartment smelled faintly of chamomile tea, but it did nothing to calm the storm raging in her eyes. Her fingers twisted nervously in the hem of her cardigan as she locked the door behind me. “She’s back, She blackmails me into doing shady deals for her, it's been months now.” she whispered, barely audible. “Its Scarlet." The name hit me like a slap. My chest tightened. “What do you mean back?” My voice rose, sharper than I intended. “Elina—what has she done?” Her lips trembled, and tears brimmed in her lashes. “She’s been calling me, Luna. Threatening me. She said if I told anyone… she’d kill Richard. She’d kill your mother. She said she’d make me watch.” I felt the air leave my lungs. For a second, my vision blurred with red. No one—no one—threatened my family.
