Dragging myself from class to class was a chore today, I had no energy due to the absence of my second coffee. I’ve always felt so out of place walking around school, it’s packed with desperate shewolves and boisterous males attacking everyone with their eyes. I never understood the urgency to find your fated mate. I like being alone, I’m used to it by now and I think the change would be weird. Come tonight my wolf will be yearning to find her mate and I’m concerned about how that will feel, will it effect my goals to leave Lunisa?
I grabbed my bag and hurried out of last class to ensure I wouldn’t be late for work, I worked in a bar on this side of the tracks and I worked every damn night. Tonight though, just before midnight, I have to leave to endure my first shift in the comfort of the forest. Once shifted back my boss made it apparent I will be returning back to work to complete my usual hours. Leaving the school doors I was shoved and knocked about a million times.
“Watch where you’re going, f*****g imbeciles” I yelled sternly as a group of shewolves delved past me almost knocking me to my feet.
“Oh shut up b***h” yelled Trixy in retaliation. She turned back sharply, her straight blonde hair almost whipping her friends. She stood, hip tilted, eyeing me from the bottom of the steps.Trixy was daughter to one of the wealthiest family’s in Lunisa, she’ll soon turn 18 herself and is suspected to be one or all of the Silverston’s mate. In short, she was a b***h.
“Carry on with your ditzy little life Trixy just watch where you’re walking or are you just too stupid to notice anything but your reflection” I sighed. Trixy snarled a low snarl, eyeballed me and whispered amongst her disciples. They all giggled, whipped around and trotted off. I rolled my eyeballs in relief, I was too tired to argue today. My wolf always wanted to argue, I don’t know what’s wrong with her she’s a fierce little thing, I think that’s partly a defence from being alone all the time and being where I’m from, you have to have your guard up. I arrived at work and headed straight to the bathroom to change into my uniform, a short red dress that was basically painted onto my body, knee high heeled black boots and a handy little black apron.
“You’re late” growled Layton, my boss.
“Sorry Layton, I got caught up at school” I pleaded.
Layton huffed and went on into the back of the bar where he usually resides for the rest of the night, as long as I’m working. I basically run the bar on my own, Layton uses me so he can sleep or do whatever it is he does back there. Time rolled on through my shift, I’d cleaned tables tirelessly, poured about a hundred drinks, greeted lots of customers and was doing it all with a smile. I noticed a lot of muffled speaking outside all of a sudden, it sounded very enthusiastic though so no concern from me. The last time I heard muffled voices outside those red doors I had to break up a fight with 3 fully grown gammas, little old 5”0 me, on my own, with no thanks to Layton. The doors flew open and in sauntered the Silverston three. Ezekiel leading them, as expected, followed by Caleb and then Zion. I huffed under my breath knowing I’d now be in for a night of demands and commands.
“Good evening gentlemen” I greeted them sweetly.
To my surprise each and every brother nodded to me approvingly, before getting seated in a booth in the corner opposite the bar. I finished drying the last glass and grabbed my pen and pad and slowly began to find my way to their booth. Trembling a little, I crept up and approached the brothers.
“What would you all like to drink?” I asked softly.
Zion met my eyes almost immediately, panning them over every inch of my face before slowly gandering at my hair and neck. I felt my cheeks get hot but tried my best to keep my composure. Caleb was intriguing he’s obviously identical to his brother, but his hair was more tousled and wavy, falling a little over his face. I caught myself and realised I let my quick glance linger a little too long and I was fully blown staring at him. He looked at me calmly, the corners of his mouth curling a little as if he wanted to let out a grin, he inhaled sharply.
“I’ll have a whiskey, neat.” His voice sharp and deep.
I nodded and scribbled it down awaiting the other brothers orders.
“I’ll have the same” said Ezekiel, his voice was a lot smoother than I’d imagined. I looked up at him sharpish, a little stunned at the softness. His eyes hadn’t left some paper he clasped in his structured hands.
“Make that 3 please” added Zion, he still sounded so seductive. I hadn’t even looked In up from my notepad yet but I could feel eyes burning on me. I looked up to find Zion’s gaze still set on me, he gave me a gentle smile as I nodded in acknowledgement. I slinked off back to the bar to get their drinks. Once poured I carefully carried them over on a tray, this I can do one handed now thanks to Layton allowing me to spend 24/7 here. Placing them down in front of each of the brothers, Ezekiel’s was the last to pass, as I gently put it down his hand reached out to the glass and gently touched mine. He looked up almost immediately eyes locked onto mine, his hand felt so warm which was unexpected. He looked at me with those big emerald eyes and just batted them at me, nothing cold about this look, it was incredibly warm. Breaking the gaze I scooped up the tray and sauntered back to the bar.
Looking over discreetly I could see all brothers engaging in conversation, then as if I willed it, Caleb’s head shot up and looked straight at me. I didn’t flinch. I watched as Zion playfully slapped him on the back of the head and with that he looked away and continued speaking with his brothers. Had I done something wrong? Had I messed up their order? I don’t think so but I was a little dumbfounded from seeing them to be honest. I sighed under my breath and took off my apron. I walked into Layton’s back office to let him know I’m going to the forest before my first shift now. Layton grumbled and waved for me to go, I left through the back door and walked through to the forest. I slowly stripped my uniform off, not to destroy it, I stood there wrapping my arms around myself in the snow, completely naked and shivering, anxiously waiting for my first shift to happen.
