It didn’t take the police long to tie Oliver Weddinghouse to the murder. There were the fingerprints on the wineglasses; his on one, Jackie’s on the other. Additionally, fibers from a navy blue sweater of Oliver’s were found on the one Jackie had been wearing as well as a couple of strands of his hair. Interestingly, Oliver claimed he was wearing a green sweater that day, not a blue one. Witnesses from the country club where Oliver had been till midnight were divided: two were sure he wore a green sweater, three believed it was navy blue, and one was certain it had been beige. While the witnesses were not an overwhelming majority, they were in the greatest number swearing to navy.
