The next time I saw Toby, he was seated at the table in front of the courtroom beside Carrie for his arraignment in the murder of Jacqueline Summerfield. I sat in the first row directly behind Carrie and Toby. As we anticipated he had not been charged with Eric’s murder due to Miguel and me witnessing the killing in self-defense.
