37 After laying a thick white blanket over the city the snow took a breather, but more was expected later in the day. Travel was questionable. A smattering of westward flights took off from JFK. Most flights were delayed, needing planes to arrive from other destinations before they could fly from the airport, leaving many flights still canceled. Although the city was still crippled, the major arteries in Manhattan were cleared for commerce. Depending on the severity of the snow expected later there was a chance we could return to Seattle late in the day. We had to decide what to do.
