6 Thanksgiving is one of those family holidays. When you’re divorced or separated from family and loved ones you don’t look forward to the holiday. It’s hard to be thankful when life throws roadblocks in your path. You mourn your losses, even feel a little sorry for yourself. Yeah, even shrinks can get a little mopey. I was eager to get the holiday behind me, although I knew the passing of the holiday didn’t really end the sadness. Thanksgiving marked the beginning of that festive time of the year, starting with Black Friday when shoppers buy for their loved ones, peaking at Christmas where everyone is required to enjoy their families, and ending with developing a bright outlook for the New Year.
