I hadn't dressed for a date in so long I'd almost lost the knack. I found a sparkly dark blue dress at the back of the closet and was excited until I remembered it was an evening dress. Then I nearly settled for a yellow silk outfit Trish had bought for me. I didn't like it (Sorry, Trish), but couldn't remember why until I put it on. The Chiquita Banana Lady would have been proud to welcome me as one of her own. In all, I tried on ten different outfits before settling for a denim pantsuit my mother gave me last year. It had just enough glittery stuff sewed into the collar to make it dressy but was comfortable and friendly. My mother told me the shade of blue matches my eyes and draws attention to my "sweet face," but I like it anyway. Emmett lay on my bed watching all these ministration
