JANUARY January 2nd A few hours after Trish and I parted company yesterday, I was standing in front of the Current Hill Hotel just beyond the spray of the lighted fountains. Once again, thanks to my mother, I had a blue, off the shoulder dress she'd bought for my birthday (the real one) a couple of years ago. I could only find one pair of dress shoes, but they were black flats, and a pair of pearl earrings, also courtesy of my mother. Emmett was spending the evening with Zip and Don who'd insisted on meeting me at my car so I wouldn't have to drive all the way out to the compound.
