STELLA'S POV "Stella... please open up," I heard James' voice from the other side of the door. He kept knocking, but I didn’t want to see anyone. Tears blurred my vision as I got up and opened the door from his persistent knocking. He stepped in, worry written all over his face as he walked to my bed. "What... do you want, James? I really want to be alone right now," I said, trying to keep my voice steady, but it cracked from all the crying. "Stella, it's been two days and you haven’t been out of this room," James said gently, sitting on the edge of the bed. His gaze was gentle, like his name isn’t part of the one being dragged through the mud. How was he so calm? His voice was lower and softer than I’d ever heard.
