♥ Jessica ♥ I woke up convinced I had imagined the whole thing. For a few seconds, I lay still. I slowly got out of bed and padded down the short hallway. As I entered the living room, I immediately looked at my little nook. I saw the roll-top desk, the yellow lamp, the chair, the little duck, and my laptop. Last night came back in a rush. I had finished my short story. I had sent my short story. My stomach flipped as I grabbed my phone. But there were no new emails. No messages. Nothing. I scoffed at myself. “Obviously,” I muttered under my breath. I couldn’t expect an answer. It had been less than twelve hours. That didn’t stop me from refreshing my emails at least four times while I put the kettle on. Once I had my first cup of coffee, I got started with my day. I filmed a quick skin
