♥ Alice ♥ I woke up to sunlight on the floorboards and the soft sound of Asher Valley outside my windows. A week ago, the loft had been nothing but boxes and echoes. Now, when I opened my eyes, it already felt like my place. My home. From the bed, I saw the top of the half wall that hid my studio nook. My sketchbooks waited on the small table. My pencils stood upright in their jar. My easel faced the window, the canvas no longer blank. Yesterday I had worked there until my back ached and my hand cramped. I had missed that feeling. I padded across the warm wood and leaned on the railing. Below me, the open space looked exactly how I had hoped it would. The small couch. The round table with two mismatched chairs. The kitchen with my kettle on the counter and the blue mug Brendan had claimed
