♥ Aiden ♥ Jessica fell asleep with her hand in mine. We were still on the couch, the credits of some movie rolling across the television screen. The empty taco containers sat on the coffee table next to the heart-shaped box of chocolates and the tub that had once held cookie ice cream. If anyone had asked me a year ago what my perfect Valentine’s Day looked like, I would have fumbled for an answer. Tonight, I knew. It looked like this. Soft light and Jessica leaning against my shoulder, her breath slow and even. Earlier, when I had opened her gift and seen the key, my world had tilted. Jessica was complicated. No doubt about that, but she is also an amazing person. For her to trust me enough to give me a key was a big deal. Very big. It meant so much to me. Jessica shifted in her sleep
