CHAPTER 24 DAISY'S POINT OF VIEW. I woke up at 9 a.m. A sharp twang of bowstring snapped me awake,followed by a child’s frustrated grunt echoing across the grounds. It was quite loud; it woke me up no matter how much I wiggled in bed, pretending not to hear and wanting to sleep more. But then I was glad it did. I thought I’d be awake by at least 6 a.m. 9 a.m. is quite late, but I didn’t beat myself up too much. I'm not obligated to wake up so early, not after last night’s ordeal. Yanking the sheets off my body, I stepped down from the bed, my feet finally kissing the cold floor. The first thing my eyes saw was my reflection in the mirror in front of me,my messy hair.
