DAISY'S POINT OF VIEW
Theo hit the brakes instantly. The car stopped immediately, forcing us to lurch forward.
“Excuse me?” he turned toward Jax, his tone serious and his eyes darkening.
“What did you say?”
Unfazed, Jax shot back. “I asked Daisy and not you. So mind your business.”
My heart sank into my stomach at his courage. I glanced between them, sensing the brewing storm.
But Jaxon was just a kid; everyone would have hoped Theo would understand, but of course he wouldn't.
Theo stared at Jaxon, subtly giving him a stern warning, but Jaxon didn't get the memo. He hissed and shifted his gaze outside the window.
