Sophia's POV

It was finally the day we would be having dinner with my parents friends. And imagine my surprise when I found out who that friend was.

Of course it was Mr and Mrs Paige along with her beloved daughter Victoria Paige. I never actually hated her but after everything I found out Yesterday. I can never look at her the same way.

I still do not understand why she did it. What made her do it. I don't remember ever being a bad friend to her we were always close .

That is what made me more suspicious of what Alex said. Either way I would try and ask Victoria about it.

Maybe there were a few hints that she liked him but she never mentioned it to me. Why would she hide it. There were instances that she showed him way more interest than she did me.

Seven years ago

"Hey Tori. Would you like to come to my house today for a sleepover" I asked.

"Umm... Well will Alex be there" she asked a little shyly.

"Why- I don't know. I could invite him if you want. But I am not sure if we can stop each other from killing the others" I smiled at that.

"Umm.. okay invite him too. Then I will be there" she said with a tinge of pink on her cheeks.

In the evening

While I and tori were playing the doorbell rang. As I was about to get up. Tori did so before me and ran to the door. Just to turn around and tell me that she would go get the door. It never actually bothered me much.

A little while later I heard footsteps as I looked up there he was a cute little Alex along with a flustered Victoria. Victoria just came and sat beside me but Alex being the a*s he is came over to me and ruffled my hair.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop doing that Alex " I shouted.

"Until I listen I guess" he shrugged his shoulders.

"Urghh. Asshole" I muttered under my breath. Which made him laugh. It was seriously a very cute laugh. God this kid was cuteness overload. But an a*s at that.

"Okay well what are we doing tonight" Alex asked.

"Movie marathon" tori yelled.

"Please do I get to choose the movies" Alex asked with hope . Which was soon distroyed.

"No" 

"Nope". 

Both Tori and I replied.

"Urghh. Why am I stuck with you two" he groaned.

"Because you love us" tori chipped in . Her voice held a tinge of hope.

As she said that Alex turned to look at me and his eyes softened and we held each other's gazes for a second before we heard a cough.

"So let's watch umm.. the perfect date" I said trying to resolve the awkwardness.

"Ohh no I cannot with your both cheesiness." Alex complained.

"Hey it's not that cheesy okay??". "Chill".

He groaned but accepted. We sat on the bed with me in the middle and tori on my left and Alex on my right.

We saw many movies that night until my mom disrupted it .

"Kids it's time to sleep" my mom's voice came.

"Yes mom" I replied.

"Okay so now we gotta sleep so tori you can sleep with me on the bed and Alex you can sleep down" I said.

As I said that his face changed into disbelief

"Wait that's so cheating. She gets to sleep with you on the bed and I have to sleep down. No I won't" he complained.

"Alex stop being a baby . Your a guy you need to sleep down." I said.

"But we have slept together many times what is wrong with it now" he said nonchalantly.

"Allleexxxx" I yelled.

"First you weren't supposed to say that and second just sleep down please" I asked trying to use my puppy eyes.

"Okay " he huffed.

I turned to look at tori. I did notice her not so subtly glaring at me. I did not pay attention to that either. And we slept.

Present

Wow. Remembering all that makes me feel like she really liked him but I never noticed it. But I still couldn't understand about why so much hate. But I don't have time to dwell on that as I need to get ready for that dinner tonight.

I wore a beautiful white dress which reached until my knees and had a square neckline with thick straps. I decided to do light make up but added a little lipstick. My hair was put into a bun leaving a few strands of hair.

After I was ready it was already 5:30. So I decided to go down and help my mother a little.

As I walked down I saw that my mom was busy in the kitchen while my brother and dad were busy watching tv.

Before I even reached the kitchen my mom called out.

"Mason Sophia. Set up the table."

I walked to the table and began setting it as Mason walked up to me.

"Hey did you know that Ryan is coming" he asked.

As soon as I heard that name my eyes widened.

"What Ryan is coming" I grinned.

"Wait you did not know" he asked.

"And she was not supposed to know either because it was going to be a surprise for her." My mom told hitting Mason on the head. While he hissed.

"Wait seriously. Ryan is coming." I asked purely shocked.

"Yes he is . He wanted to surprise you. So he told us not to tell you." She said.

Wow it has been seven years I had spoken to Ryan . He was Tori's elder brother. He is older to me by six years. He was always like an elder brother to me. He used to care for both me and tori in the same way . And I had truly missed him. This would have been the best surprise ever.

I was truly waiting to meet him . After Alex and tori he wa the only friend I had. And I wanted us to meet properly and not fight or something. After what happened with Alex and Tori I just want my meeting with Ryan to be good .

As it was almost six. I got more nervous not only for meeting him but even because she would be there.

I had forgotten my phone upstairs. So I decided to go up. As I went up I couldn't remember where I had kept it . As I was looking around the doorbell rang. And I searched faster. I really wanted to go down but I couldn't find my phone as my frustrations increased I began throwing my pillows away and the bedsheet and I finally found it as I heard a voice.

"Oww. I wouldn't want to be the pillow" I heard someone say from behind. As I heard his voice my grin widened and I turned around.

Standing over there with the same grin as mine was the one and only Ryan Paige. God how much I had missed him. I went towards him and hugged him. We both embraced each other for a long time

"I missed you kiddo" he said.

That was the name he had given me when we were kids. I hated it and I still do.

"Urghh. I am not a kid. You understand" I asked pulling away.

"You will always be a kid to me " he smiled at me.

I hugged him again and whispered against his chest.

"I missed you too Ry Ry. " I said making him groan. He hated that name just as much as I hated him calling me kiddo.

"Ahh that name. I almost did not miss that at all" he said laughing. And I joined.

We both walked down together and saw that Mason was sitting along with dad and Mr Paige. And tori was with my mom and Mrs Paige.

So we both decided to go out into the backyard. So that we could catch up.

"So how have you been" I began.

"Well. I have been good. I graduated in Stanford for buisness last year. And I have been training in my dad's company and soon I am planning on taking over the buisness. " He said proudly.

" Wow that's awesome. Who would have thought you and Stanford huh??". I laughed.

"Well what can I say. I grew up I guess "he shrugged.

"What about you how was life in India." He asked.

"Different" I replied.

He raised his eyebrows as if asking me to elaborate. I sighed and continued.

"It was different. I did not have many friends. Adjusting was hard. Our schooling systems were different. But overall I made one friend who is the best of the best friends for me. Her name is Marianne. She was the only one that was there for me I Guess. If not for her I would have gone crazy" I said thinking back to all the horrible memories from there.

"Hey what happened" he asked

"Huh?"

" You just zoned out over there"

"It's nothing. So tell me any soon sister in law's for me or maybe a niece or nephew." I asked wiggling my eyebrows at him.

We laughed at that we began speaking. He told me that he did not have any girlfriend. Although he did have one in college but ended but being a w***e. So he was not looking forward to a girlfriend right now.

As we spoke we did not notice the time and it began to drizzle so we walked in to see that everyone was just sitting to eat.

"Well finally you both decided to come back " Mr Paige commented.

"Well yeah we were just catching up" I said.

"Sure" tori said along with a cough. Before I could comment on it she received a stern look from her mom and her face looked like she was in pain.

What was that about I thought and walked to sit down beside Mason and Ryan. Tori sat opposite to me with both my and her mother on either side of her and our fathers sat at the two ends of the table.

We had dinner with a few jokes here and there and everyone interacted except for me and tori. I could feel that everyone had realised that yet hadn't commented on it. They did not want to pry and we ignored each other's presence but I wanted to talk to her before they go.

After dinner our mothers began cleaning the table and the guys had gone to the living room.

I went towards Tori.

"Mrs Paige can I borrow tori for a minute" I asked.

"Why of course my dear you can" she replied sweetly as tori raised her eyebrow at me.

We walked out to the backyard and I turned around to look at her.

"Ok so why are we here right now" she asked raising her eyebrow

"I wanted to ask you something. Something the happened before I left. I want to know why you lied to me" I asked

"Look whatever bulshit your speaking I don't know what you're talking about" she replied nonchalantly.

" look you and I both know what I am talking about so just cut the bull s**t and tell me" I demanded

"I did what I had to do at that time so I don't care what you say about it. You took him away from me and I did the same. " She shrugged

"Wow so you agree lying to me and him." I asked

"Yes" she replied with no regret.

"How the hell do you know about Eddie and Jackson" I asked with a worried face.

She smirked and replied.

" I have my ways b***h so f**k off. And leave me the hell alone"

"So he was never angry with me. And you just used that as an excuse to not tell him that I was leaving. So that he would get more angry at me. You never told me what he told you to convey to me." I asked with disbelief in my eyes.

"yes yes yes . yes to everything you said and I would do it again and again if it meant that he would still be with me and not with you."

As I heard that I walked away from her and took out my phone as I went inside.

Me - We need to talk. Can we meet . Same place.

???- Right now??

Me - yeahh .

???- okay. I am on my way
