Pov Ethan

Once in the car, everything was silent. She said nothing and tried but was failing not to look at me. I found it cute and decided to joke with her. "You know I can feel you staring. You don't have to be scared to look at your husband Jade." I said She turned bright red and look away like she was a child got taking a cookie from the cookie jar. I smirked

"You shouldn't be scared of me. I don't bite" I continued "Well I could I mean you just have to ask." I said seductively and when she turned to look at me in shock I winked at her.

"No, that's not happening I'm sorry but I don't know you" she whispered. Again she was supposed to be easy so why is she saying no and why was acting shy?

Something was not right about my wife that much I knew.

The rest of the drive was quiet it was like she was scared to talk. About 15 minutes later I pulled up to my childhood home it was in a small neighborhood one of the first streets at the end of a dead-end street. There was a big chain store about 15 minutes away. For anything, she may need correction we will need. Crap I didn't think this through

I parked in the driveway. We got out honestly I was kinda feeling bad for how this place looked. Well no turning back now. I open the door and I gotta say it smelled musty and it was dusty s**t I didn't think my plan through. Her eyes opened in horror at the site. She walked over and tested the lights. Once she confirmed I had power. She looked around and smile at me. "It's not much but it's mine," I said crap I was embarrassed to be doing this. "I hope you find it suitable" I said

She sighed while I put her bags down. She walked over to the kitchen and tested the water. She look around and said, "still better than what I had." She whispered thinking I didn't hear what the hell. She came over and looked at me "It's not much Ethan but it will be fine" she said.

Alright let's get this over with I had a table and 2 chairs "Jade can you have a seat, please we need to talk" I said She looked at me and sat down. "Look I know neither one of us wanted this but we don't have a choice now. Think of this as a business deal in public we are a married couple. If you stay out of my business I will stay out of yours. Purely Poltonic so to speak. The only rule is don't come in here saying you're having a baby because if not mine I won't have it. Do whatever you want. Sleep around I honestly do not care I will do the same. Just no babies out of this marriage.Understood?" I finished.

She looked like she was about to cry. Like I had slapped her in the face she was hurt. That quickly went away she hide her emotions well. "Okay, whatever works for me. She said removing all her jewelry including the wedding ring. I need that ring back." she said ouch I know this was my idea but why would she need it back?

"Why? you gave it to me?" I said She looked me dead in the eye and yelled "What does it matter Ethan? This marriage isn't real! you just said we would stay out of each other's business. so technically I don't have to answer you! just give it back" she said. I had made her mad. Although I had no desire to take it off. I did take off the ring and slid it back she quickly grabbed it and put it in her bag. "Please show me to my room." she said. This made me smile. I stood up and motioned for her to follow I open the first door to a small bathroom. Then I opened the second door and stepped aside. She walked in and I think everything clicked in her brain. She spun around quickly "There is only one room and one bed!" she said. "Yes, my darling wife. There is." I said with a chuckle.

"Well how will this work is there an air mattress or does the couch turn into a bed?" she questioned I shook my head no. If looks could kill I would be dead " Look Jade" I started. "Shut up and stop calling me Jade!" she yelled. Agh okay "Well that is your name is it not?" I questioned.

"I should have just ran when I had the chance. I was so stupid to think you would be different! To think this would be better!" she said. She started pacing

"What are you talking about? different? better?" I said "It's not your fricken business Ethan just let me vent" she yelled. She started looking around she finally stopped "Know what... whatever this is fine. I don't care I don't give a shit." I can sleep on the floor or I will sleep on the couch." She said. She dropped her stuff and pushed passed me. Not what I was expecting. She went and sat down on the couch. I stared at her.

I decided to put the next part of my plan In motion. I looked at her "Alright I have plans. Give me your number. and I will give you mine. I need to go." She didn't say anything just placed her hand out. I gave her my phone she typed her number and called her phone. Once it was done She handed me the phone back. "Alright, I'm leaving... Don't wait up I will be back late." I said walking towards the door

"Bye don't die. That would be a shame." She said sarcastically. Oh, she is funny I smirked. I left I didn't have any plans I just wanted to see what she would do once alone. I got in the car and drove away. I went and traded cars for a more expensive car with fully black tinted windows all around that no one could see in. I staked out She didn't do anything for an hour.

Finally, I saw her come out she had changed she was looking down at her phone and started walking. Took long enough I gave her space so she wouldn't notice me. I followed her waiting to see what she was going to do...I know this is not conventional and borderline stalking but something was off and I needed to find out. She got to that big chained store. After an hour of waiting I started to get worried she wasn't coming out. I wait a bit longer. I was about to go in a look for her. When I saw her come out of the store. She was pushing a full shopping cart. After struggling she finally made it back. She unloaded the cart. she looked exhausted. She stared at the cart and just pushed it to the back out of view.

I got a call it was Dylan. "what?" I said

"Let's go to the club?" he said I did need a drink. "On my way" and hanging up.
