Chapter Three When we got to Kara’s house — I’d offered Michael a lift, since his ancient El Camino didn’t look as if the tires had enough tread to back out of the driveway, let alone go across town with another snowstorm threatening — I saw that both Jeff’s van and the Olivers’ silver pickup truck were sitting in Kara’s driveway.
