_Chapter 2_
Jameson's mind was racing with possibilities. "Mr. Langley, do you have any idea who might be behind this?"
Langley shook his head. "I've been thinking about that nonstop, but I can't think of anyone who would want to harm Sarah. She's a kind and gentle person, loved by everyone who knows her."
Rodriguez pulled out her notebook. "Can you show us the letters and gifts?"
Langley nodded and walked over to a safe in the corner of the room. He opened it and pulled out a folder filled with letters and small packages.
Jameson's eyes widened as he looked through the contents. The letters were cryptic and menacing, with phrases like "You'll never be mine" and "You'll pay for what you did." The gifts were even more disturbing - a dead mouse, a broken mirror, and a small doll with its face ripped off.
Rodriguez's face was grim. "This looks like stalking behavior, Mr. Langley. We need to investigate anyone who might have had contact with your wife in the past few weeks."
Langley nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "I'll do anything to find Sarah. Please, you have to find her."
Jameson's phone rang, breaking the tension in the room. He answered it, listening intently to the caller.
"What is it?" Rodriguez asked, noticing the look on Jameson's face.
Jameson's expression was grim. "That was the lab. They found something on Sarah's phone that might be a lead."
Rodriguez's eyes lit up. "What is it?"
Jameson's voice was low and serious. "A text message, sent to a number that's been traced to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. The message reads: 'Meet me at the old warehouse at midnight. Come alone.'"
Rodriguez's eyes met Jameson's. They both knew what this could mean...
