The vehicle was a costumed version. The back of the seat was very spacious with the front and back of the car thoroughly divided by a black partition. The windows were also tinted, turning the backseat into a very private area.
The moment he got inside, Darlene immediately greeted him. “Surprise!”
Nichol didn’t react as her presence was already expected. However, surprised or not, the gratitude is there and it’s reflected by the smile he gave her. “Hey, what are you doing here?”
“I thought you might need some TLC after spending half a day inside the Maze, so I volunteered,” she said, smiling so sweetly. “Thankfully, your Dad let me.”
Her head tilted slightly to the table in front of them which is filled with fresh fruits, chocolates, bagels with cream cheese, and several other snacks.
