That’s the troublesome thing about a Lich and moreso to an Elder Lich. They are an anti-life being to begin with and hence, they are without attachment to their vessel. Once convenience dictates, they discard it right away in favour for either an upgrade or evading destruction with their Mana and abilities still intact.
