The clearing behind the pack house had never felt so small.
Frost‑tipped grass bent beneath the weight of dozens of paws as the Grey Moon Pack formed a wide circle, their breath rising in pale clouds beneath the early morning sky. The air was sharp, cold enough to sting the lungs, but tension heated the space like a forge.
