Episode 9
The Hidden Truth
The abandoned subway tunnel was silent except for Elena's uneven breathing.
Adrian checked the entrance before turning back.
"They're gone... for now."
Elena leaned against the damp wall, still shaking.
"Those weren't FBI agents."
"No," Adrian replied. "They're part of an organization called The Archive."
"The Archive?"
"They erase people."
Elena frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"They don't kill them." His voice became quieter. "They erase every record that proves they ever existed."
Her blood ran cold.
"My birth certificate..."
"Gone."
"My school records..."
"Gone."
"My family?"
Adrian hesitated.
"They've been made to forget you."
The words hit harder than any bullet.
Tears filled Elena's eyes.
"So... I'm completely alone."
Adrian stepped closer.
"No."
She looked at him.
"As long as I remember you," he said softly, "you still exist."
Before Elena could answer, a distant engine echoed through the tunnel.
Headlights swept across the darkness.
"They found us," Adrian whispered.
He grabbed her hand again.
"This time... we don't run."
"We fight."
Episode 10
The First Fight
The headlights grew brighter.
A black van screeched to a halt at the tunnel entrance.
Four armed agents stepped out, dressed in dark uniforms with no badges.
"The Archive," Adrian muttered.
One of the agents raised a weapon.
"Elena Carter," he called. "Come with us. This ends tonight."
Adrian stepped in front of her.
"You'll have to go through me."
Without warning, an agent fired.
Adrian pulled Elena aside just as the bullet struck the concrete wall.
"Run!" he shouted.
Instead, Elena grabbed a rusted metal pipe from the ground.
When another agent rushed toward Adrian, she swung with all her strength.
The pipe crashed into the man's shoulder, sending him stumbling backward.
"You hit him!" Adrian exclaimed.
"I wasn't going to leave you!"
The remaining agents closed in.
Just then, the tunnel lights flickered.
For a split second, every camera on the agents' helmets went dark.
Adrian smiled.
"My backup finally arrived."
A motorcycle burst into the tunnel, its rider dressed in black.
She skidded to a stop beside them.
"Get on!" she yelled.
Adrian grabbed Elena's hand.
As the three sped into the darkness, the lead agent watched them disappear.
"They've found another Ghost," he said into his radio.
"Begin Phase Two."
Episode 11
The Ghosts
The motorcycle raced through the empty streets, weaving between abandoned warehouses before stopping at a steel warehouse hidden beneath an old bridge.
The rider removed her helmet.
She couldn't have been older than twenty-five.
"My name is Maya," she said. "And if Adrian trusts you, I do too."
Elena looked around.
Inside the warehouse were dozens of computers, maps, and newspaper clippings. On one wall hung hundreds of photographs.
Some faces had thick red X's drawn across them.
"What is this place?" Elena asked.
"Our safe house," Maya replied.
"Everyone here is a Ghost."
"A Ghost?"
"People the Archive tried to erase."
Adrian pointed to a faded photograph.
It showed a smiling family of four.
Only one face remained visible.
"The others were erased," he said quietly
"No records. No memories. No trace."
Elena stared at the photo.
"So... I'm not the only one."
"No," Maya answered. "But you're the first person who's survived the erasure completely."
Before anyone could say another word, one of the computers beeped loudly.
A message flashed across the screen.
TARGET LOCATED. SAFE HOUSE COMPROMISED.
Silence filled the room.
Then every light went out.
Episode 12
The Traitor
Darkness swallowed the warehouse.
"Nobody move," Adrian ordered.
The emergency lights flickered to life, bathing the room in a dull red glow.
The safe house was empty.
Every workstation had been abandoned.
"They're gone," Maya whispered.
"No," Adrian replied, kneeling beside a chair that had been pushed back in a hurry. "They were evacuated."
A single envelope lay on the table.
It was addressed to Elena.
Her hands trembled as she opened it.
Inside was a photograph.
She froze.
The picture showed her standing beside Adrian...
Both of them were smiling.
The date at the bottom read:
April 18, 2024.
"That's impossible," Elena whispered. "I don't remember any of this."
There was a message written on the back.
Don't let him remember what happened that night.
Elena slowly looked up at Adrian.
He stared at the photograph as if he'd seen a ghost.
"I've never seen this before," he said.
Before Elena could answer, Maya quietly raised her gun.
She wasn't aiming at the door.
She was aiming...
At Adrian.
"Step away from her."
Episode 13
The Choice
Adrian slowly raised his hands.
"Maya... what are you doing?"
Her grip on the gun never wavered.
"I'm saving her."
Elena stepped between them.
"Lower the gun!"
"You don't understand," Maya said, her voice trembling. "He's hiding the truth."
Adrian's expression hardened.
"What truth?"
Maya pulled a small flash drive from her pocket and tossed it to Elena.
"Everything you need is on there."
Adrian caught his breath.
"Where did you get that?"
"From the Archive."
The room fell silent.
"You worked for them?" Elena asked.
"I infiltrated them," Maya replied. "There's a difference."
She looked directly at Elena.
"When your memories return, you'll remember why Adrian made a promise he could never keep."
Adrian's face turned pale.
"Maya... don't."
But it was too late.
Elena inserted the flash drive into one of the warehouse computers.
A single video file appeared.
Its title read:
PROJECT ECHO – SUBJECT: ELENA
She clicked Play.
The screen flickered.
Then a familiar voice echoed through the warehouse.
It was Elena.
"If you're watching this... I failed."
Episode 14
Her Own Voice
The screen filled with static.
Then Elena appeared.
She looked exhausted. A small cut marked her forehead, and she kept glancing over her shoulder as if someone was chasing her.
"If you're watching this," the woman on the screen said, "then the Archive succeeded."
Elena's heart pounded.
"I'm not the real Elena Carter."
The room fell silent.
"My real name is Evelyn Brooks."
Adrian's eyes widened.
"No..."
The recording continued.
"I took the name Elena Carter to protect someone. If they discover who I really am, thousands of people will die."
The video suddenly glitched.
A distorted voice interrupted the recording.
UNAUTHORIZED FILE DETECTED.
The screen went black.
"No!" Maya shouted, desperately pressing the keyboard.
Every file on the computer began deleting itself.
10%...
32%...
57%...
Adrian yanked the flash drive from the computer, but it was too late.
Only one file remained.
A photograph.
It showed a smiling little girl holding Elena's hand.
Written across the image in bold black ink were six chilling words:
THEY FOUND THE WRONG GIRL.
Elena stared at the words, unable to breathe.
"If I'm Evelyn Brooks..."
"...then who is Elena Carter?"
Episode 15
The Real Elena Carter
No one spoke.
The photograph lay on the desk between them.
Adrian finally broke the silence.
"I knew Evelyn Brooks."
Elena looked up.
"What?"
He swallowed hard.
"Twelve years ago, my father was assigned to protect a little girl named Evelyn. One night... she vanished."
"But the video—"
"The Archive wanted the world to believe Evelyn died."
Maya leaned closer to the screen.
"Zoom in."
Adrian enlarged the photograph.
In the background, barely visible through the trees, stood another child.
A girl wearing the same silver locket.
Maya froze.
"That's her..."
"Who?" Elena asked.
"The real Elena Carter."
Before anyone could respond, the warehouse door exploded inward.
Smoke filled the room.
Masked agents stormed inside.
A familiar voice echoed through the haze.
"Stop looking for Elena."
The figure stepped forward and removed her mask.
She looked directly at the woman everyone believed was Elena.
Then she smiled.
"My name is Elena Carter..."
"...and you've been living my life."
