“WILL! FADER!” CASE called, searching the maze-like Warehouse. No one answered, which was fine with her. She was in no hurry to find Will. Her “conversation” with her Voice moments before had left her even more uncertain about what to share with him. Looking for a distraction, she ran her eyes over the shelves she passed. Most contained wooden crates of various sizes, but some held small statues in marble or wood. Or huge painted urns. Or blocks of stone with carved symbols. Or dirt-covered things she couldn’t name but which reeked of dead worlds. Literally reeked. This place smelled of the ages. Musty, dusty, ancient. She shivered. Like wandering through a cemetery.
