The wind blew through my hair as we descended. The thrill, screams, and laughter were all I needed to get my adrenaline going.
Leonel's trembling grip on mine remained tight, refusing to let go, and I didn't want him to. His screams pierced my ears, and he didn't stop until our feet touched the earth.
His breathing was uneven and erratic, and his eyes were glazed over. I threw my head back and let out a raucous laugh that rang through my lungs.
He joined me with a short, sob-like laugh before collapsing against me. I put an arm around his shoulder and rubbed my hands in soothing circles down his back.
