Leonel and I headed upstairs, and when we got to the safety of his bedroom, we stared at each other and burst into loud laughter. I laughed so hard that tears pooled under my eyelids while Leonel chuckled beside me, shaking his head.
“Did you see your mom's face? She looked like she was about to s**t in her pants.”
"Please don't give my mom a heart attack. She's the only parent I've got."
I rubbed at my non-existent pregnant belly which made Leonel shake his head in amusement.
“In all honesty, it wasn't planned. I had to pretend after she called me a gold digger and offered me money to leave you alone. Can you believe that?"
