Miracle
A sudden release of tension in my body caused me to exhale in relief when Ariel answered her phone. I had no idea she would pick up, and I had been calling her randomly, hoping she would finally answer.
Dani sat in the passenger seat. She leaned closer with her face inches from mine and urged me to put the phone on speaker mode.
"Where in heaven's name are you, Ariel? I've called and sent hundreds of voicemails, yet you didn't even bother to return the call.”
