Miracle
I was stretched out on Leonel's patio, surrounded by twin palm trees, relaxing and taking in the scenery, when my aunt called.
Even though I was twenty-two years old, my heart galloped and pulsed. I was afraid she would find out the truth about the contract. My muscles twitched as I fidgeted with my phone.
My aunt was the only relative I knew. After my mom drowned when I was eight months old, she took me in because my dad wasn't involved in my life.
