“Don’t let me stop you,” he said as he refocused on Sam, and his eyes twinkled at her with mischief. “I’ll be a gentleman and turn around.” He gave her his back but listened acutely for her movements as she climbed out of the water. “I thought you were taking precautions, especially after finding Uncle Joe.” He raised his voice so she could hear him.
