She smiled. Bonita was one of her favorite mares. Though she was in foal last year, she had gotten sick and had reabsorbed the fetus. With fingers crossed, she hoped Bonita would stay healthy and carry the foal to term. She was a bit sad to read that Ace had found a new home, but Matt would only sell if the owners fit the profile of what the horse needed. There was always the clause in the Bill of Sale that the horse returns to Crystal Springs should the owner, for a variety of reasons, decide the horse no longer fit their needs. Her father didn’t think that was a sound business practice. Only four horses had been returned, and she decided she would rather have them back than to not know their fate.
