29 J.J. yawned. It had been a long day, and he had even missed the shed fire. Making his final pass down the barn aisle for the night, he peeked over each stall door, ensuring that the resident was content for the evening. At the front of the barn, he turned off the lights and slid the doors closed. Tucking his hands in his coat pockets, he took the path he knew well enough that he traversed it without a flashlight. Rounding the corner of the lodge, he noticed that one of the trucks was still gone. As he climbed the steps to the veranda, headlights splashed across the front door. He turned, expecting to see the company vehicle, and grinned as he recognized Zach’s truck as it parked on the opposite side of the lot from the lodge.
