14 Ethan glanced from Carli to the open safe. He could see three rifles standing barrel up in the dark interior. “Perhaps Bear had it with him on the hunt,” he offered. “Call Shaun. He would know if the rifle was recovered.” Her brows were drawn together in thought. If her father had used it, then Shaun might have it in his sheriff’s vehicle. Maybe the forensics people in Cheyenne wanted it to match the gun to the bullet. Perhaps one of the clients had recovered it and given the rifle to one of the employees once they all returned.
