“I think, Sam, it would be best if you left for Colorado soon,” Shaun said.
“I was planning on leaving on Saturday—”
“Tomorrow. There’s enough security at Crystal Springs to keep you safe. But I think whoever is causing trouble is either done or they’ll keep it focused on the lodge.”
“Like the fire?” Sam asked. “I think whoever is behind Dad’s death is finished.”
“Or arson was someone else’s idea,” Shaun added, sharing one of the theories he and Ethan had discussed.
Ethan interjected, “The fire was a way to destroy something they didn’t want found.”
“Like divorce papers?” Carli offered.
“Maybe. But Shaun’s right. The focus seems to be the Preserve, and if Sam is in Colorado, that’s one less Tanner to have as a target,” Ethan said.
