30 Ethan swallowed the dregs from his paper coffee cup that was obtained from the diner. He had woken up too late, after a restless night where he vacillated from lying awake to pacing the guest bedroom, to enjoy anything Matt might have left in the pot in the kitchen at the Springs. Trying not to grimace at the bitter taste, his eyes tracked the list of vacation rentals. This was the beginning of day four that he and Deputy Collins would traverse the Colorado countryside, searching for some sign of Carl Rutgers.
