Chapter 15- New Face

THALIA

I wake up and I rustle my blankets. Weird. Why does it smell like roses? I tuck a loose hair strand behind my ear and I touch something on there. When I hold it I see a red rose. Without the thorns too. Then I get out of bed and face the mirror. On top of my head is a hairband made out of roses while my hair is still in braids which Zach did for me. What the? Who would do this?

I walk to my desk and see another rose. I remember I was texting Creepy Chester last night. But I only know two people who would sneak in here. One is Creepy Chester and the other is that unknown hooded guy.

The hooded guy I don't know who he is still but he treated my wounds well after f****ing me. God. Why do I keep thinking about him? He's the guy I should stay away from. I bite my lip and sigh fixing the roses on the vase and I open my desk table lid and place the red roses hairband in there. I also feel something metallic and I remember the butterfly hairclip Zach clipped on my hair yesterday. And I undo the braids.

I also place that butterfly hairclip and hair ties inside my desk table. Nothing good ever comes from associating with them. That's what Nika said.

I stare at my phone. Thankfully no messages from Creepy Chester today.

Nika sent a message though.

Morning, girl! Are you awake yet? I'm on my way to the dorms.

I typed a message and sent it.

Morning, Nika! I'll wait for you! See you soon!

I decide to tidy up the bed and open the door and windows to air the smell of the roses out and I also curl the curtains.

Then I wait on my bed for Nika.

I suddenly hear foosteps approaching the stairs. That must be her.

I glance at the door and she jumps in for a hug.

"Sorry I left you all alone. Were you okay? Did someone hurt you?" She asks me.

"No, I'm okay. I'm so glad you're back," We keep hugging each other and she giggles.

"We both need a bath right now," She says while I nod.

"Yeah, I think so too," I chuckle.

She unpacks her things and opens her closet placing more of her stuff there.

We then head down the bathroom together as we bring a change of clothes and toiletries.

We then head back up after we finished showering and we change into our uniforms.

She beams at me and takes out a camera.

"What's that for?" I ask her.

"I just remembered we don't have much pictures and my parents said they want a picture of us together." Nika says.

"Okay," I say and we take a few pictures before the bell rings for start of class.

"I'll see you later in Physics," She says and gives me another hug.

"Okay, see ya, Nika." I beam and then we head out of the dorms going to our classes.

I go to my class in Mathematics and take out my notes while waiting for our professor.

Then our professor enters the room.

"Good morning class," He announces and clears his throat. "We have a new student joining us starting today. Please come in and introduce yourself."

The new student enters the room and smiles as he introduces himself.

"Hello, my name's Miko Riviera. It's nice to meet you all."

I stare at him and he stares back at me giving me a smile.

I just nod and turn away.

The professor clears his throat again to check where there are empty seats.

Then he finds one empty seat beside me.

"You can sit beside Ms. Clarkson," The prof says.

I stare beside me. He's right. I haven't had a seatmate in a while.

Miko strides over to claim the seat beside me and he holds out his hand.

"Nice to meet you," He says.

I reach for his hand and shake it.

"Hello, nice to meet you too." I say.

Then he removes his hand from mine and sits down to listen to the lecture.

I listen in too and jot down important stuff.

CHESTER

I walk down the hallways to my classroom.

Even if I'm late the professors all just let me do what I want because of my dad.

I keep walking and I see a door open where a few students step out.

There I spot my little mouse talking to someone. And not just anyone but a guy.

She looks confused as to why he is suddenly beside her but he seems to reassure her so she walks with him.

Then she turns her head and spots me and she gives me a smirk.

F***. She's taunting me.

THALIA

I find Chester the Creep staring at me while I talk to Miko. So I smirk at him and then turn my face away as me and Miko keep walking. It's strange but I feel comfortable with him already even if this is just his first day. He's more comfortable to talk to.

Unlike Chester, who is like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland with his creepy grin. Maybe I should call him Cheshire when I see him next time. Oh, I should change his contact name too while we're at it.

I take out my phone and change his contact name to Creepy Cheshire Cat. Now that's more like it then I pocket my phone, satisfied.

Nika bumps into us and Miko. "Hey, Thalia!" She waves. "Oh, I forgot. You're here." She smirks at Miko.

"Duh, I knew you would not remember." Miko scoffs.

I wonder what's with them. They seem close. Are they a couple? I thought while glancing at the both of them chatting.

Nika turns to me. "So, how did you two meet?"

"Oh, we had the same Mathematics class." I say to her.

Miko beams at me. "If you need help with Math, I'm your guy. I know everything about Math like the back of my hand."

I chuckle. He reminds me of Nika a little. Like a male version of Nika. I guess that must be why they seem compatible and I feel at ease with him.

We keep talking until the bell rings for our next class.

So I say goodbye to both Nika and Miko since they both have the same class together.

While I walk in to go to the classroom for History class, I freeze by the door because I find Wade, Zach and Chester in the same room.

I take out my phone to check my class schedule and room making sure if I got it wrong. But the schedule clearly says this would be the room for History class.

D*** it. I quickly avert my gaze from them and walk to my seat.

Then the three of them loom over me. I gulp. The way they stare at me like they are wolves and I'm their prey.

"What do you want?" I ask them as I look up. "I can't see," I hiss.

But they don't seem to budge and they just keep staring at me like I'm a delicious treat.

"You smell so f***ing nice," Wade reaches for my hair to sniff it.

Then Zach leans over me. "Where is the hairclip I gave you?"

I ignore his question because I don't need to answer that and I look up at Chester.

"And you? What brings you here, Cheshire Kitty?" I say.

Wade chuckles and covers his mouth to hold his laugh.

I also see Zach holding back his laughter.

Chester's eye twitches. "What did you just call me?"

"Kitty," I say. "Cheshire Cat." I smirk.

Wade laughs even harder. "HAHAHAHA! It suits you man! Cheshire!"

"I'm not a cat," Chester hisses. "But you do have a p**** down there. And that could probably use some good f***ing right now to teach you a lesson."

Wade smirks. "Can I join the fun?"

Zach also leans even more against me to give me a whiff. "Me too," He says.

CHESTER

I promised them so I nod.

"Yeah, but she is mine first. I call dibs on her. You only get second and third place."

Wade punches his fist together. "Fine by me, just as long as I have a taste."

Zach keeps sniffing her hair. "That's also fine by me, as long as I get to make Thali feel good too."

My little mouse looks uncomfortable so I drag Zach away and the professor enters so we go back to our seats.

"Take out your books and open to page 70."
