CHAPTER TWENTY SIX
The school hall was dark, with a large red velvet curtain covering the stage. As Emily looked around at the large space and all the seats slowly filling with parents, she felt a pang of nerves for Chantelle, knowing how anxious the child was about performing in front of people. But she was also excited that Chantelle had the opportunity to show the world her talent. This would be a proud moment for the whole family.
Emily and Daniel found seats beside Yvonne and Kieran.
“How was Hawaii?” Emily asked Kieran as she sat down beside him.
