The cold night air sent a shiver down Aria's spine as she stepped out of the hospital.
She glanced around.
The parking lot was unusually quiet.
"Mr. James?" she called softly.
No answer.
A strange feeling settled in her chest.
Something wasn't right.
Before she could reach for her phone...
SCREECH!
A black van came to an abrupt stop beside her.
The sliding door flew open.
Three masked men jumped out.
"Grab her!"
Aria gasped and tried to run, but one of them caught her wrist.
"Let me go!"
She kicked one attacker in the stomach and elbowed another in the face.
"You littleโ"
Before she could escape, someone covered her mouth with a cloth.
Her vision blurred.
Everything faded into darkness.
---
At Knight Corporation...
Adrian was in the middle of an executive meeting when his phone vibrated.
It was James.
He answered immediately.
"What is it?"
James' voice trembled.
"Sir... Miss Aria has been kidnapped."
Silence.
The room froze.
Adrian slowly stood.
His icy gaze swept across the conference table.
"What did you say?"
"They took her outside the hospital... We couldn't stop them."
CRASH!
Adrian slammed his fist onto the glass table.
The glass shattered instantly.
Everyone flinched.
His voice was cold enough to freeze the room.
"Seal every exit in Blackwood City."
"Check every CCTV camera."
"Search every warehouse."
"I don't care how much it costs..."
"...Bring Aria back."
---
Several hours later...
Aria slowly opened her eyes.
Her hands were tied behind a wooden chair.
The warehouse was dark and silent.
Footsteps echoed.
A familiar figure emerged from the shadows.
Damien Cross.
He smiled.
"I knew Adrian would come looking for you."
Aria glared at him.
"If you hate him so much..."
"...Why involve innocent people?"
Damien chuckled.
"Innocent?"
He walked closer.
"You are the only person capable of breaking Adrian Knight."
"And that's exactly why you're here."
He pulled out his phone and made a video call.
The screen lit up.
Adrian answered immediately.
The moment he saw Aria tied to the chair...
His eyes turned ice cold.
"Touch her..."
His voice was calm.
Too calm.
"...and I swear you'll regret ever being born."
Damien laughed.
"Then come save her."
The call ended.
---
Inside his office...
Adrian grabbed his gun.
Ethan rushed in.
"Sir! It could be a trap!"
Adrian loaded the magazine without looking up.
"I know."
"Then why are you going alone?"
Adrian stopped at the doorway.
His jaw tightened.
"...Because she's waiting for me."
Without another word...
He walked out.
And for the first time...
The hunter was walking straight into the enemy's trap.
