Aria couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious man from the night before. His calm voice. His piercing grey eyes. And the strange confidence in his final words. "Our paths will cross again." She shook her head and laughed to herself. "Never." The next morning, she woke before sunrise and got ready for an interview at Knight Corporationโ€”the biggest fashion company in the city. It was her last chance to find a better job and help pay her mother's hospital bills. Standing in front of the towering glass building, she took a deep breath. "You've got this, Aria." Inside, the receptionist greeted her with a smile. "Good morning. Name?" "Aria Collins." "You may proceed to the conference room. The CEO will be conducting the final interview." Aria frowned. "The CEO? Personally?" She expected a managerโ€”not the owner of the company. Moments later, the conference room door opened. Confident footsteps echoed across the polished floor. Aria looked up. Her heart skipped. It was him. The man from the rainy night. The man who almost hit her with his car. He stopped walking the instant he recognized her. A slow smile appeared on his face. "I told you we'd meet again." Aria's jaw dropped. "Youโ€ฆ" He pulled out a chair and sat opposite her. "I'm Adrian Knight." The billionaire. The CEO. Her interviewer. Heat rushed to her face as embarrassment washed over her. "Great... of all the companies in the city, it had to be his." Adrian folded his hands on the table. "So... do you still think I'm a terrible driver?" She crossed her arms. "I still do." Instead of getting angry, he laughed. A real laugh this time. Every executive in the room stared in shock. They had never seen their cold-hearted CEO laugh during an interview. Adrian looked back at Aria. "You're different." "I'm just honest." "And I like honest people." Silence filled the room. Finally, Adrian stood. "Congratulations." Aria blinked. "What?" "You're hired." Her eyes widened. "But... you haven't even asked me any interview questions." "I already know enough." She frowned. "You barely know me." Adrian slipped his hands into his pockets. "I know you're fearless." "And?" "You don't treat me differently because I'm rich." He smiled again. "That's exactly the kind of person I want working for me." Aria wasn't sure whether to celebrate... or run. Something told her accepting this job would change her life forever. And deep inside, Adrian had already decided one thing. He wasn't going to let her walk out of his life again. โ™ก๏ธŽ To Be Continued... โ™ก๏ธŽ
