THE WILL

Episode 1

Desmond decided to consult a fetish priest as his mother suggested but it seems his wife does not like the idea. After all,she was a committed Christian and has no plans of stepping feet on any ground meant for the gods. She said God's time was the best!

Abigail's mother in law got mad and advised his son to rather marry a second wife instead of wasting breath, time and money on a barren woman.

To make that dream a success, Desmond and his mother went to ask a lady's hand in marriage and believed she was the right daughter in law who would bore her many grandchildren.

Few months after preparing to marry his second wife,he got the news of luck that his first wife was pregnant. With the joy of having to be called a father,the worst happened.

Twelve good months passed and Abigail was unable to give birth due to some complications the doctor could not figure out. Desmond was annoyed 'cause he was so desperate in having this child born into his arms.

The marriage he planned on cancelling never got cancelled because of Abigail's pregnancy which everyone was saying it's fibroid. She laments all the time for she does not want to question the will of God. He does his things in a miraculous way and she knows that God of hers will not disappoint her.

Desmond went ahead and brought his second wife into the house. When Abigail's rival arrived, she felt uncomfortable and questioned her husband as to why he brought in her rival but all he said was," Madam,you agreed for me to marry a second wife and if I have done so, what then is your problem? Perhaps, you thought I was joking. Ha! My dear wife, this is the definition of how eager I want to be known among my friends as a man".

It was on the day of Desmond's second grand wedding that he had a call that his wife whose pregnancy took thirteen months has put to bed a baby girl. Desmond left the wedding immediately and went to the hospital to see his wife. The family of the bride got angry but not until they found that he had already given her the ring.

When Elizabeth, the second wife came home, Abigail decided to do the best that could help her baby live in a serene environment. She shared everything equally and made Elizabeth comfortable as far as marriage was concerned.

Life with her rival was a great pleasure to Abigail. No quarrel or fight;they go out together to have fun. She gifted Elizabeth a brand new car when she got pregnant.

Elizabeth put to bed a baby boy after her three years stay in the marriage. Abigail was gay because the child will at least distract Desmond and remind him that he has a second wife as well for all his attention was on Abigail and her baby.

One Friday morning, Abigail got invited by one of her high school mates to attend a get together celebration.

Angelina, Abigail's daughter was four years of age when her mum embarked on this unknown dreadful journey for it ended the life of Angelina's parents. Desmond and Abigail died on their way to the party.

Elizabeth was dressing the children up for shopping when the sad news came. She immediately broke the news to the young Angelina for it was better she gets used to the situation now than later.

Now,she has a son and a step daughter to cater for.All responsibility falls on her now.

Fourteen years later when Angelina was eighteen years old,she runned out of money in school and decided to come home and ask for money from her stepmom.

When she explained the reason why she came home, Elizabeth deliberately refused to give her money saying the money her parents left were finished.

The treatment made Angelina thought of her father's will. The lawyer explained that the document would be with Elizabeth because Angelina was too young by then to owe all that her father left for her.

"Are you telling me tall stories mum?", Angelina asked.

"Why do you say so?", Elizabeth asked back.

"You can't tell me that a wealthy man like my dad left no will knowing very well he has two wives and children. I deserve to know the truth mum!", Angelina demanded.

"Go ask your dad in his grave if he left you any will. I have nothing to tell you and your dumb brain".

Tears soaked in Angelina's eyes as she walked up the stairs to her room.

An idea occurred to Angelina as she was washing the dishes.......her mother's lawyer was still in touch with her. Perhaps,she could be of help.

Angelina sat comfortably in front of the lawyer and started stating her report.....her mission.

"I know you're barister Ana and you're my mother's most trusted lawyer so please can I replace my mum in your mind? I want to know......." , Angelina paused but it seems the lady with her serious look was just listening to her so she continued.

"I'm here to know if my mum left any thing in the form of will down concerning her being a midwife. I want to get a clear understanding because my Stepmom is triumphantly dancing to the tune in which my parents had played. Reaping exactly what she hasn't sown. I want you to explain everything to me. I don't want to read her lips ".

The lawyer inspired for a while and said," My dear daughter, your mum left you what she had but I advise you to fight for your dad's will because your mum's will isn't enough. You'll continue taking money from the Women Association every month as your mum said. The rest are The utensils in her kitchen. You see why you have to go for what belongs to you? The lion's share is your dad's will".

"Thanks barister. At least I know my dad made a will".

"Welcome my dear".

Two weeks after visiting her brother in school, Angelina thought of asking her stepmom if she knows her dad's lawyer but as predicted, Elizabeth denied it. How she wished her dad didn't allow this witch into their lives.

Two years after Angelina's graduation from school, she came home happily. Angelina now works as an accountant and her aunt was of great help to her to the extent that she almost forgot about her promise of fighting for her dad's will.

One day,she heard her stepmom sold one of her mother's cars and bought a new one,changed her son , Samson's school to one of the most expensive schools. Where exactly did she get such money from?

One evening, Angelina overheard Lizzy discussing something with her best friend, Genevieve.

" My lady, what should I do with the documents you gave to me?"

"Eat them up if you want to!", Elizabeth replied rudely.

" Oh! Such impudence!"

" What do you expect to do with them? Hide them for me. That's my husband's document. I'm trusting you with it".

Angelina knew it! She knew her father's will was with Elizabeth but she just decided to enjoy it lavishly.

"Do you need anything?", Genevieve asked Angelina who was too shocked to even realize she was eavesdropping and needed to leave. Now she was caught!

"Ahhhhh!", Angelina shouted and everything went blank!

Angelina woke up very weak and after gaining consciousness,she found herself in an uncompleted building with a knife in her hand. She turned only to face the lifeless body of Genevieve,her step mum's best friend. She was brutally murdered which caused the fear in Angelina to increase. It was a homicide scene but who did it? Genevieve was stabbed and that explains the knife in Angelina's hand. Yes,she was shocked! How?

She was standing there confused as police from nowhere came to arrest her. She pleaded with them that she knows nothing about the scene but her pleading fell on dead ears. But who did it and why? Elizabeth? No! She would not do that to her best friend? Why would she?

Their friendship has been for ages and nothing would push Elizabeth to kill Genevieve in a horrific way.

Genevieve was a divorced woman with two beautiful daughters. She works as the boss of her own mall where all stuffs are found.

Angelina's arrest was so quick that she had no time calling her lawyer. They wanted to offer her a state lawyer but she called barister Annabelle and asked for help. Barister Annabelle responded quickly to Angelina's call and assured her that she would defend her even if it meant her life!

"Tell me everything that happened because it is only if you tell me the truth that I can help you win this case. Are you responsible for Genevieve's death? Can you recall everything that happened that day or how you got to the building? Anything strange whether intentional or not intentional. Angelina was shocked at the questions thrown at her. Even her lawyer doubts her?

Angelina looked straight in barister Annabelle's face and replied ,"I didn't kill Aunty Genevieve. She came to my Stepmom's house and I was eavesdropping on their conversation about the will and the next moment I saw her questioning me and the next moment, I woke up in that building. I have no idea what actually happened. Everything just happened"

"Is your stepmom aware of your arrest?"

"I tried reaching her the day I was arrested but she never picked up. She lied about the will. I almost believed her. That's all I can recall for now", Angelina said.

"So you're telling me Elizabeth hasn't been here to see you or the body of her best friend?".

"No,she hasn't. Why?"

"There's something fishy in all this issue. Your case is really interesting and I'm glad I'm the one handling this case. I am sure Elizabeth is aware of all that is happening. Call her again using the police line and ask her to help you get a barister and report to me what she says. Do I make myself clear?".

"But barister, believe me when I say I didn't do it".

"Hmmm.......... just cope with me and let's do this together ".

"Of course ".

Barister Annabelle left Angelina to face her fate while she faces hers. They have to work together to reveal the person behind the mask. She felt strongly that Elizabeth has a hand in this mess. But why would she kill Genevieve? There are secrets beneath the cover.

One evening, Angelina was told she had a call so she responded immediately to the phone.

"My dear step daughter, Hope love where you are. Oh don't worry about your brother..... he's safe and faring well. I'll come and visit you only when you're dead. For now, just rot in jail. The concealed document is with me and can never be with you......I love you. Goodbye my daughter ".

It was Elizabeth! Satanic! Evil!

Angelina reported the call to barister Annabelle and she once again promised Angelina that she would bring Elizabeth behind bars. Elizabeth was a smart fellow and whoever wants her downfall has to make sure he or she has a strong ladder. Plan A and B has to be made if one wants to punish Elizabeth.

For two weeks, Annabelle visited a lot of places making it impossible to meet her client, Angelina.
