Chapter twenty eight

1153 Words

~CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT~ A woman bent forward, her hands gripping the edge like it’s the only thing keeping her upright. His body moves with ruthless certainty, familiar, practiced, claiming space like everything else in his life. For one horrifying second, my brain refuses to process it. The words explode out of me, raw and cracked. “What the f**k is going on here, Hardin?” My voice tears through the room like glass shattering. Everything stops. Hardin freezes mid-movement, his head snapping toward me. His expression shifts instantly—heat replaced by cold, desire extinguished into something dangerous and sharp. He pulls away from her without hesitation. “Leave,” he orders. The woman turns, eyes wide with fear, scrambling to fix herself. She hesitates, glancing between us. “Now.”
