UNINVITED GUEST

553 Words
The Grand Regency Hotel was packed with cameras, journalists, and high-society elites. Banners bore the logo of Vance Global, and oversized photos of Ethan and Victoria hung from the balcony ceilings. "Remember," Lucian’s smooth, deep voice purred in my ear through a tiny earpiece. "You aren't here to beg. You aren't here to cry. You are here to remind him who you are." I smoothed down the front of my silk emerald gown. The rich jewel tone highlighted my transformed glow, and the backless cut revealed a subtle, glowing silver mark on my shoulder blade—the true mark of the Silver Moon bloodline, fully awakened. Inside the main hall, Ethan stood on the raised stage beside Victoria, dressed in a sharp black tuxedo. Victoria wore a dazzling diamond tiara, clinging to his arm like a trophy. "...and so, as Alpha of the Eastern Territory and CEO of Vance Global," Ethan announced into the microphone, his voice echoing across the room, "I am proud to announce my upcoming union with Victoria Lin—" CLAP. CLAP. CLAP. The slow, clear sound of a single pair of hands clapping cut through the quiet room. Every camera, reporter, and guest turned toward the grand double doors. I walked into the ballroom with calm, effortless poise. My heels clicked against the polished marble floor with a steady, commanding rhythm. The room fell into absolute silence. Ethan’s eyes widened, his face turning pale. "Maya...?" he stammered into the live microphone. Gasping broke out among the crowd. The helpless, ragged girl who had been kicked out into the rain a month ago was completely unrecognizable. My posture was regal, my eyes sharp with raw power, and my wolf's presence hit the room like a sudden tidal wave. Victoria’s fake smile completely crumbled. "What is she doing here? Security! Get this trash out of here!" Two heavy guards stepped toward me, but before they could even reach for their holsters, a heavy pressure flooded the room. My wolf let out an imperious aura that stopped both guards in their tracks. They froze, trembling, instinctively bowing their heads to an Alpha-level presence. I stopped at the foot of the stage, looking up at Ethan with a cool, mocking smile. "Congratulations, Ethan," I said, my voice carrying clearly across the silent hall. "I see you didn't waste any time replacing your true mate with second best." "Maya, leave now before I have you thrown out," Ethan growled, trying to regain control, but his eyes were glued to me in total shock. "You don't belong here." "Oh, I'm not here for the party," I replied softly, stepping onto the first riser of the stage. "I'm just here to deliver a message." I pulled a crisp, sealed black envelope from my clutch and tossed it onto the podium in front of him. "That is a formal notice from Blackwood Enterprises," I said, watching his eyes widen at the name. "As the newly appointed Vice President of Blackwood, I'm here to inform you that we've just acquired forty percent of Vance Global's shares." Ethan blinked, horrified. "What?!" "See you at the board meeting tomorrow morning, Partner," I whispered with a cold smile. Turning on my heel, I walked out of the ballroom as the crowd erupted into chaos and camera flashes blinded the stage.
