Tristans P.O.V. --------------- When Rana and the men were out of sight Nikon joined me. I stare at the void where she stood just a minute ago with my arms crossed against my chest. 'What do you think of Rana my friend?' I ask. 'Well I'm sure she will be alright with Rik and Willem. If I may be honest I think that she's a fighter. She might seem weak and uncomfortable but I suspect there is much more to her than we see. She's not scared of or shocked by soldiers or dragons, talks nonchalantly about swords ... I wonder where your new obsession will lead us.' He answers with a smirk. 'Obsession?' Raising my eyebrows I think I know where this is going but I appreciate his opinion. He has always been honest and straightforwards with me and I like that. 'Yes obsession. I knew something was different from the moment I saw you staring at her. But when I saw your face in that dark room, how you brought down that annoying woman... Believe me I would have liked to have silenced her too, but normally you are a little more... calculated in these situations. How you look at her, how you talk about her, what you do for her. I just hope it won't affect you or the way you lead us.'  I feel my teeth clenching and my fists balding. I have earned the respect from my men by hard work and respecting them too. I won't throw away everything I've worked for... He continues. 'But I have a feeling she's changing you and that doesn't have to be a bad thing if she makes you stronger. Maybe it will be a good thing having a woman by your side. Now no one will think you are gay anymore.' 'Me?! Gay?! Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less who you love as long as it doesn't affect your job but... Do people really think that?' I almost whispered that last part. It's true that it'd been a long time that I felt a p***y since Rana but since the scar and since the rumours I only saw their fearful expression. That or disgust. They didn't want to look at me and always wanted me to take them from behind, there was no pleasure in their voice, no warmth. It was as if they were waiting for it to be over so I just gave up and in time I didn't felt the need any more. He laughed and tapped my shoulder. 'Trust me, when they hear her yelling your name like I did when I passed your room...' And he started walking. He heard? I know it's not right but I can't help it, a big smile forms around my lips. I spontaneously think back to her voice, her moans, her touch, her tongue... I feel my member coming to life and my chest warming... I'm f****d! The walk to my father's room is silent but peaceful. I always liked to be in my father's office. From my childhood he involved me in discussions with officers, guards, members of council... Here, I learned the basics and the tricks, how to plan, how to turn the situation to my advantage. Alex never really had an interest in the military, he was more concerned with the financial side and of course with the female attention that our position brings. He is a first class manipulator who knows how to use his charm. But he's still my little brother, I can see straight through his mask. We finally arrive and even though I've spent most of my time in the palace in this room, I don't know what to expect or think. Last time I was here he told me about some rumours from the north. Of a terrible coup that had failed and of a rising revolution among the people. He is silently preparing for a possible attack so that we are ready should it be necessary. He asked me to sharpen the patrols and prepare my men. He also wanted to know if Zion was ready yet, but I refuse to involve him in any war that way. Dragonfire is not something to be used recklessly and certainly not for display of power. I take a deep breath and open the door. I see my father sitting on his chair at the end of the table looking at some papers. This room hasn't changed at all. I clear my throat to announce our presence and he raises his head. As soon as he sees us he gestures us to take a seat. I lean back and let my right ankle rest on my left knee. He keeps looking at the papers and I'm starting to get impatient. I can't take it anymore. 'You summoned me father?' I start the conversation. He looks up again and puts the papers aside. 'Oh yes my son, your mother was not in good spirits when she came back today.' Here we go... 'You know I don't care who you share your bed with or who you love, but don't forget that there are traditions in this kingdom. Rules to follow, however unjust they may seem.' 'I thought you wanted to talk about the festival or about the situation in the Continent.' I know where this is going and I don't like it. 'Yes of course I do but I just wanted you to know...' He starts rubbing his neck, I can sense that he is choosing his words carefully. 'Rana is a free woman now and despite what mom thinks I won't impregnate her... yet.' And I grin just at the thought. As the oldest prince and heir of the kingdom I must ensure my successor, but I still have plenty of time. How wonderful would it be to have children who have my strength but her exceptional beauty. 'So Legas handed her over to you and signed the papers for her release? That's not what he told me. Is it true that you killed his wife?'   My hands grab the armrests of the chair and I see my knuckles whiten from the force I put on them. That snake! I feel my anger rising. 'Yes I killed her, she threw herself at me hoping that she could leave Legas through me. After that I saw how she nearly beat Rana to death with the whip and left her to bleed to death. Where are you going with this?'  'My son, as much as it hurts me, but as long as Legas doesn't hand over his slave and her papers, according to the law she still belongs to him. He came to me reminding me of that law. Whatever you did, he didn't like it Tristan. I'm sorry but you must return the girl to him.'
