Taylor leaned forward; there was sympathy in his eyes as he looked at him. "None of it is your fault. You can't carry all the burden on your own, son."
Crimson took the financial reports in his hand and felt the weight of all his responsibilities pressing down on his palms. "Is there any way for me to save the family business?"
"Proceed with the marriage to Celestine Ford, and all your worries will disappear. Her father, the Mayor, will give you the leverage you need."
He heaved a sigh. The engagement with Celestine had helped a lot, and he managed to convince the investors not to pull out of the contract. But he couldn't keep relying on her or anyone. If there was another option, he would rather take it without binding himself to anyone.
