Mermarian Kingdom: The Orion Encounter

Ellies's Point of View

"Sýntoma na eímai nýfi .. What does that mean, Alexus?"

I looked up him as I asked. Curiousity consuming me up. Alexus just shooked his head while smiling.

"Alexus" I warned him

"It's nothing, Ellies. Don't mind it" he said still smiling

We are now walking in the hallway of a garden. Beautiful flowers are blooming, butterflies are flying freely. And as we passed the garden, I saw a big wooden door. It is spacious and has an owl design, holding a book and a magic wand. It seems like it is surrounded by glowing pearls. It is mesmerizing to look at.

"Where are we, Alexus?" I asked, but I received no response from him.

"Pórta tyligméni me mageía, chrisimopoióntas aftí ti goiteía pou sou érixa, ákou ti foní sou kai mas édine drómo" Door wrapped with magic, using this enchantment I cast upon thee, hear thy voice and give us way

After Alexus said those words, he pulled me away from the door. And all of a sudden, the old wooden door was covered with white light, I closed my eyes because of the intensity caused by it.

Without a minute or two, the light suddenly exploded and was replaced by pixie dust like that is now wrapped all over the door.

The old wooden door suddenly turned into a huge gate made of golden iron. There are leaves around it that look like it was meant to be designed to it and its top has a statue of an owl

"We're now entering, the Kingdom of Mermarian." Alexus announced.

I roamed my eyes across the place. And everything that falls on my eyes really amazes and fascinates me.

We are still here at the entrance of the kingdom but I already admire its beauty.

"What a very beautiful place" I praised, continuing to look around its magnificent view

"It really is. I don't want to admit it, but of out of all the kingdoms, only the Mermaria stands out. They really know how to preserve the beauty of this place" Alexus complimented

He took a breath before speaking again,

"Come on. Orphius is already waiting for us"

As we continued walking, I also continued to admire the beauty of the place. The sky was still very bright, but fireflies appeared as if illuminating lights. It only adds even more beauty to the whole land

I then woke up to my daydreaming when Alexus suddenly stopped walking and I bumped into his back

"A-aw. Is there any problem, Alexus? Why did you suddenly stopped walking? Are we here yet? Ah my head"

I asked one after another while nuzzling my bumped face

"Shhh don't make any noise" he said

"Ha? Why?" I asked him curiously

"We got company" he replied seriously

His right hand was holding me, while the other one was now covered by luminous red light.

My eyes widened and I became alert of his actions. Suddenly, fear was consuming me

"A-alexus" I said frightened. His grip on me tightened even more

"Reveal yourself" Alexus commanded.

I was nervous and my eyes suddenly widened when a monster suddenly appeared. It was as big as a dog, but more furry.

Its fangs and nails are long. Its scary eyes were black. It has three heads and a large scary bat-like wings.

"A-alexus, w-what is t-that?" I asked without breaking my stare at the hideous monster

"An Orion. A type of monster hiding in the forest. They will no longer release anyone they hold captive. The saliva they spit out is poisonous and deadly. That kind of creature is f*******n to enter this place. Why is it here now?" Alexus explained annoyed

"Get ready, Ellies. It looks like we will be caught in a sudden battle" Alexus added

I suddenly let go of his right hand as it was enveloped in a red light. And the light coming from his hand seemed to signal the monster's advancing towards us

Things went fast. Alexus pushed me as the monster rushed. I just saw that Alexus was avoiding the monster attack. I don't know where the sword he now holds as a shield came from. Orion moves fast, but Alexus moves faster.

But then I was shocked again when there was another Orion behind Alexus. He probably did not notice this because he was busy defending the attack of his previous opponent

"Alexus, behind you!" I shouted.

But my fear and nervousness were replaced by admiration when Alexus suddenly jumped behind his former opponent. His action caused a collision and the two Orions were thrown away

Alexus quickly ran into my direction, but the Orions recovered faster. One blocked Alexus, and the other quickly ran towards my way. I didn't know where I was going to run, my nervousness grew.

I looked around to see if I had any hiding place, and when I saw something that I could use as a shield, I ran towards it but as soon as I got close, unfortunately, I stumbled. I felt pain in my knee, and even though it was painful, I crawled to the nearest tree. I looked for Alexus, and when I saw him I suddenly felt sorry.

You can already see the tiredness on his face, his clothes are torn and full of blood. Even his arms are covered with blood, but the Orions aren't finished yet

"Is this our end?" I asked myself.

"Ahhhh" I suddenly heard Alexus shout.

I tried to stand up even though my knee hurts. I saw Alexus writhing in pain. The monster that had been his opponent before was close to where he was hiding.

I was about to run towards him when I saw an Orion approaching me again. I stepped back and tried to hide again, but it was too late. He already approached me

"Nooo! Stay away from her! I will kill you if you hurt her!"

Alexus shouted again but it seems like the Orion wasn't scared of his threat because the monster kept on walking slowly towards me

"Ssheda! Ahhhh" Alexus shouted furiously.

His pain turned ragged, Alexus kicked hard against the Orion he was fighting with. It then fell down and took a long time to stand up again and recover.

The Orion that attacked me earlier accelerated even faster towards where I was. I backed away until I could no longer back down.

The Orion opened its mouth and it seemed at any moment that he was ready to spit out his saliva. In my fear, I closed my eyes and used my hands as a protection.

I cried out loud as I felt one of his nails hit my hand. The pain was truly excruciating

I was screaming loudly that I didn't realize the blue light that came out from my body. Covering me with it.

The pain caused by this Orion suddenly disappeared. I felt like I was getting stronger.

And when the Orion rushed at me again, I raised my left hand. From there came out small blue circles which is slowly growing. When the blue light faced the Orion, its light grew brighter and then suddenly, it exploded.

And as soon as the light faded, so did the Orions. But along with that, I also seemed to have lost my strength.

Suddenly my knees weaken and my vision darkened. But before it could completely disappear, I saw and heard Alexus screaming my name and running towards me.
