Just then a young gentleman, evidently a friend of the young man caressing Anne, came up and greeted him, and requested to be introduced to the two ladies. Greetings were exchanged. The young man felt obliged to withdraw his hand from Anne’s dress, much to her disappointment.
The next time, the young man, whose name was Jean, spoke to Anne he told her that he had described to his circle of friends what she had done for him. Anne was worried by this; she did not want to be thought a common w***e, who would offer her cunny to be felt by all and sundry. But Jean then said that he had also told his father, the duke. He said the duke would like to meet her and perhaps enjoy the same privilege as his son. Though surprised, Anne was flattered by this attention and readily agreed.
