Nazar Voitovych is the youngest hero of the Celestial Hundred. In the evening of February 19 he set off to Kyiv. It was his first—and last trip. The boy spent about three hours on the Maidan. In the early hours of February 20, in the midst of the c*****e in Instytutska street, a sniper shot him. His parents lost their only child.
Nazar’s father Yuriy Petrovych says that in the evening of February 19 his son called him and said he was heading for the Maidan. Yuriy asked him to not to go there to play it safe. His son promised to stay by the stage—in the middle. “What stage?! Nothing of the kind! He came there in the morning, grabbed some cobbles and pushed to the front,” says Yuriy Petrovych.
