On the black Tuesday of February 18, 2014, on seeing that the peaceful protest on the Maidan had developped into m******e, Volodymyr Kyshchuk said he could no longer stay at home. He started his car. His beloved dog Urma jumped into it. And they set off to Kyiv together.
“Volodymyr called from the Maidan. He was so happy. He said he was there to defend our rights,” says Tetyana Petro-vska, the daughter of the hero of the Ce-lestrial Hundred. Volodymyr Kyshchuk answered phone calls until 2 pm. After that all attempts to contact him were in vain. “Around 7 pm I heard the name 'Volodymyr Kushchuk' among the killed,” recalls Alina, his niece.
