The first woman of the Celestial Hundred died on February 18.
“She was living on the Maidan”, recalls Ivan Hryhorovych, Antonina Dvoryanets’ husband. He first came to the protest along with his wife right after the students had been beaten on the night of November 30. He returned to his working duties afterwards, while his retired spouse would come there almost everyday. She helped with the cooking in the House of Trade Unions, cleaned up the streets, brought in sandwiches out of home. Her enthusiasm spread to her neighbors who went on to participate in the protests themselves. Antonina Hryhorivna even saw in the New Year on the Maidan along with her husband.
