On 20th February after a 12-hour duty at the barricades Volodymyr was supposed to get some rest. However, just then, the assault began and he came back. In a couple of hours Volodymyr died of a bullet wound to the neck.
The activist was a Maidan supporter from the very beginning. He came home at Christmas, spent there four days, took leave without pay and left for Kyiv once again.
“He did not even come home for the Twelfth-Day celebrations,” the father of the hero of the Heaven's Hundred Mykola Fedorovych bitterly recalls.
