For the first time Mykola went to Maidan after the beatings of students on November 30. Together with his wife Lesya they spent three days in Kyiv. “Who will go to Maidan if we do not? What if no one comes? What then? We must save our country. It is a crying shame that we have to work for years and still have nothing of our own,” the wife of the deceased man recalls his words.
“Ukraine was everything for Mykola. He died for what he believed in. He could not stay still when people were dying and Ukraine's future was at stake. He firmly believed that we could do anything we set our minds to, but he did not think that we could avoid bloodshed,” she adds grimly.
