"Come on dude you gotta ask her to go to homecoming" said Jake, "I know you like her I can see the way you look at her and how you talk about her" he added. "I gotta think of a way to ask her" I said. "Just ask her when you see her tonight" said Liam. "Okay I will"
We chatted for awhile about the homecoming and the party. "Okay I'm gonna head home" I let the boys know. I make my way home I noticed Kate is laying on her hood smoking. "Hey Kate" "Hey Conner had fun with the boys" she said laughing. "come up here" she said as she slides over to make room for me. I hopped up and lay back next to her.
"So how's your day" I asked her. "It's was okay hung out with the girls and talked about homecoming and how we still need to do shopping blah blah " she said laughing. "I'm guessing shopping isn't your thing " I said laughing. "Well depends on what I'm shopping for really but dresses aren't my thing." "speaking of homecoming.." "yeah?" she said looking at me.
"Umm will you going homecoming with me?" she looked straight into my eyes and smiles "I'd love to go with you" I smiled at her. I can't believe I'm taking her to homecoming. "so I gotta ask what is your thing?" I asked looking at her. "No one knows but Zoey and her brother Logan but I like to race and I'm pretty good at it"
"That explains your driving" I said laughing, "so you never lose a race?" She look down. "Did I say something wrong?" "oh no you didn't it just last time I lost even tho it doesn't count" It looks like she's trying to hold her tears in "It's okay if you don't wanna tell me" I tell her as i reach for her hands.
"it's okay I haven't really talked about it but I wanna tell you, there was a race for 3 me, Kevin my best friend who was like a brother to me and Zoey and some random dude i can't remember" she begins her story, "about half mile to the finish line Kevin lost control of his car and crashed it kill him almost instantly" she covered her face. I hugged her tight. "and it was my fault he wasn't supposed to race"
